Our Story

How A Bee Business Became A Christmas Lighting Company

Bee Merry Christmas Lights didn't start with lights at all — it started with bees. Our roots are in Bryans Bees, a local beekeeping and honey-bee rescue business dedicated to relocating hives safely and keeping pollinators thriving across Ventura County.

Beekeeping is beautifully seasonal work. Come winter, the hives quiet down and the bees settle in — which left a skilled, hard-working crew with little to do for months at a time. We didn't like the idea of sending good people home for the season, so in 2020 we picked up ladders instead of hive tools and started hanging Christmas lights for neighbors around Thousand Oaks.

It was equal parts practical and personal: a way to serve our community during the holidays and keep our team working and paid year-round. Homeowners loved the results, word spread across the Conejo Valley, and what began as a way to fill the off-season quickly grew into a full-fledged holiday lighting company — the same friendly faces, now known for making homes glow.
